Tootles saw a girl in the distance on deck and he rubbed his neck with his hand. He didn’t know why, but girls made him feel nervous. This one looked at least nice, but so had so many others. Like that Meg chick. Sweet and soft looking, but a hard nut on the inside. He wondered if almost all the girls were like her.

When he came closer, he gave her a slight wave. “Yo.”

“Oh-ho-ho..” He laughed mockingly and cocked his eyebrow again. “Hmm.. Well, I guess we’ll never know until we find out.” He lifted a finger and let it trail down her neck for a moment, while his eyes met hers and he smirked. She was probably used to men hitting on her all the time; touching her, wanting to kiss her. You’re probably no different from the rest, Tootles.

He leaned in slowly, leaning both of his hands on either side of her and brushed his lips teasingly over her soft, pink ones. His eyes were still on hers, and he let out a breathy laugh. He lifted a hand and slid it through her curls until it found the nape of her neck and gently began to caress her skin there, and gently, pulled her in for the kiss. He slanted his lips over hers, capturing them. He nibbled gently on her bottom lip, and then quickly, went back to kissing; his tongue slid over her bottom lip, almost soothing away his nibbles. Please be enjoying this..

Meg watched his facial expressions carefully as he traced some line on her neck. He wanted her, but that was not surprising. That was one thing that Meg was very cocky about. She knew that she was beautiful, and very often used it to her advantage. Most of the time it was not an issue, but sometimes she got into trouble. Most often it involved drug dealings and drunk men. That was really the only reason she taught herself to fight.

She smiled when he brushed his lips over hers. He definitely knew what he was doing. There was no doubt anywhere in her mind. She kept eye contact with him until his fingers found the nape of her neck. Her head tilted upwards and her eyes fluttered closed. He was being so gentle and sweet. It was a very welcome change. She smiled again and moved her hand to his knee, resting it there and pulling herself closer to him.

“Hmmm.. you play a very dangerous game missy..” He laughed, gesturing to her knee. “What do you think you’re doing there?” His lips were just inches away from hers. She tasted so sweet and so wonderful. She tasted like an adventure; the good kind.

“You think you’re gonna tempt me. hmm?”

“I don’t know though..” He said with a smirk, raising his eyebrow. “I’m not really sure if you could actually handle what I have to offer.” He pulled away slightly, but didn’t loose the eye contact with her. He was intrigued, but not stupid. He knew the games that girls played; he’d seen enough of that from the places he had experienced, and he was pretty sure Meg was no different.

Girls loved to play games, and Tootles loved to play the game right back at them; even confusing them a little with a slight tease. But he made up for it.

“Do you think we should give it a try?”

“Oh, is that what you think?” she said, raising an eyebrow and smiling. So he knew how to play. That would certainly make this interaction interesting. He probably had more experience than he did at that age, but it was definitely not the same as hers was now. But that was the thing about games. There was always someone better, a winner. And Meg really hated to lose.

“Hmm, I don’t know,” she said in answer to his question. “Are you sure that I’m the one that’ll be dumbfounded by what you have to offer? Are you sure it’s not the other way around?”

“Oh-ho-ho..” He laughed mockingly and cocked his eyebrow again. “Hmm.. Well, I guess we’ll never know until we find out.” He lifted a finger and let it trail down her neck for a moment, while his eyes met hers and he smirked. “Yeah?” He asked as his eyebrow rose in curiosity. “I wouldn’t say that too loud or people might get the wrong impression of you.” He was teasing and the gleam in his eye told her so. He smirked and pushed a hand through his already messy hair. “And I bet you could make a good friend, if you really wanted to try. It’s your lucky day. I get that I make a great friend, but I have yet to hear that I have talented lips. We could sort of balance each other out.” Lame. Lame. Your jokes are lame.  Tootles inched closer. “You sure you’d want to waste your oh-so-talented lips on me?”

It’s a little late for the wrong impression, she thought to herself. Meg had already slept with 3 students, 2 strangers, and she was laying the ground work for screwing someone else. She was worse than a guy. One might think that after everything that she did, she would hate herself. And she kind of did. But it wasn’t for what she was doing now. The drugs, the drinking, the one night stands, none of that mattered. Nothing she ever did mattered anymore. Of course, her actions worried others, but anyone who tried to help or change her swiftly lost contact with her. There was a strong side of her that thoroughly believed that she deserved everything that happened to her.

He might hove thought that she would make a good friend, bit he was so wrong. The only reason she had maintained a friendship with Toulouse was because they have their drug use in common and she thought that it was funny when he asked her sex questions. “Balance is good,” she said, chuckling to herself. Her smile grew slightly as he moved closer, and she leaned in a little. “Something tells me that it wouldn’t really be a waste.”

“I don’t know though..” He said with a smirk, raising his eyebrow. “I’m not really sure if you could actually handle what I have to offer.” He pulled away slightly, but didn’t loose the eye contact with her. Tootes glanced at her as she admitted that she was hung over. She certainly didn’t look it. No, in fact, she was quite pretty. Her hair was curled but nice, and her eyelashes were long and her lips were quite kissable. Did I just say her lips were kissable? Oi.  Tootles slid a hand through his hair and shrugged, letting out a deep sigh.

“Well, I just decided that.. fuck it. I don’t want or feel like going to class today. So I didn’t. Probably not the best of all reasons but.. why not?” He felt a little proud of himself for being so rebellious. It had been a long while since he had done something like that—with no second thought to Rachel.

“And I just keep thinking about how much this place sucks, and there aren’t any people to be friends with or make out with.. nothing. Nada.” He shrugged again.

“Just throw me overboard.”

“What a rebel,” she mumbled so quietly he probably didn’t hear. In fact, she hoped that he didn’t. Meg had done well so far with being nice to him, it would be a shame to destroy her streak so far. She turned her head to look at him and smiled. He actually looked a little proud that he had done this. The back of her mind wondered when the last time was that he had done anything like this. She always forgot that not everyone lived in a constant state of danger like she did. Not everyone had the most fun when they were the most unsafe.

His last comment made her smile. Meg tilted her head down so that her curls were hiding her face. “No one’s going to throw you over board,” she said. “And… I don’t really make a good friend, but I’ve been told that I have talented lips.” The comment was so nonchalant. Anyone else would probably hate themselves for being such a slut, but Meg didn’t care. She didn’t care about anything anymore. Nothing, it seemed, except for keeping this boy happy. He had such a nice smile, and to see him frowning made her sad. More sad than she already was.

“Yeah?” He asked as his eyebrow rose in curiosity. “I wouldn’t say that too loud or people might get the wrong impression of you.” He was teasing and the gleam in his eye told her so. “It’s okay. And.. to be honest, I think you were being yourself.. so you have nothing to be sorry for. I remember the first time I met you, when we first got here. You were snide to me then too. So I guess I could just say I’m used to it.” He shrugged and then instantly felt bad for being so frank with her. He pushed a hand through his hair and sighed.

“Sorry. That was really uncalled for.” He slid his teeth over his bottom lip. “We definitely got off on the wrong foot.” He almost wanted to ask her if she agreed, but he didn’t want to hear anything else that would keep them from getting on track with one another.

“So.. what’s on your mind? Why are you not in class?”

His apology made her smile. “You don’t have to apologize. I deserved that.” He might not feel the same way, but Meg deserved everything she got. Mostly the bad. There was actually very little in her life at the moment that was good. She could talk for hours about how the world screwed her over, but it wasn’t good to dwell on the past. There was one thing, though. Well, one person. Meg’s brother had recently decided that she deserved to be as much of a part of her niece’s life as was possible from so far away. So Meg got to see pictures of her niece and god daughter, Adelayd. She was emailed a few pictures, and was planning on calling her as soon as they got back to land. That was really what had put her in such an odd mood; the conflict between the side of her that wanted to be good for Addy and the rest of her personality.

“I’m really hung over,” she explained. It probably wasn’t a good reason to be skipping class, but it was enough for her. If she had to deal with everyone else in her classes, along with the inevitable yelling from her teacher, she would end up in a lot more trouble than she would if she got caught for skipping. “What about you?”

Tootes glanced at her as she admitted that she was hung over. She certainly didn’t look it. No, in fact, she was quite pretty.
