Strawberry Swisher || Tootles & Roxanne

Tootles just wore a button down shirt with his sleeves rolled up and a pair of jeans and he prayed it would be good enough. He could already hear Rachel in his mind telling him to wear the nice pair, and make an impression and yada yada yada. He rolled his eyes as he combed his hair back and put on something nice-smelling and went off to the restaurant, walking quietly past other travelers on deck. He hoped, really hoped she wouldn’t stand him up. He wasn’t really ready for that, and.. it wasn’t like it was a real date. Not at least to him, unless she wanted it to be. He liked her, but he didn’t know her, and anyone that dares him to strip down within the first five minutes of their meeting.. she was unique in his book.

She could’ve spotted him awhile away, but she decided against going up to him first. Instead, she awaited until he came up to her when she flipped her headphones off to sit on their original place loosely around her neck. “Well don’t you look dapper,” she chuckled. Suddenly realizing that she might’ve dressed way too casual for the occasion but she pushed the thought to the back of the mind trying to just be as comfortable as she could feel on a date.

They walked in quietly and took a spot at the dining hall. A table in the back seemed suitable as their waiter directed one to them. Gingerly, Roxanne sat across from him. She lifted up her menu to scan it quickly, her eyes getting slightly distracted to look curiously at Tootles.

He glanced at the menu, cringing at all the prices of everything, though, he was glad that mostly everything had been covered in the tuition cost of the school. He knew that whatever was billed extra, Rachel would pay without hesitation. He glanced at Roxy for a moment, watching as she scanned the menu. She looked really beautiful, in her own way. He smirked a little and lowered the menu to the table.

“So, thanks for agreeing to a dinner with me. I could always use the company.”
