Strawberry Swisher || Tootles & Roxanne
Was she supposed to be dressed in formal attire? Or maybe she was supposed to wear something people actually wear on dates? Whatever she was supposed to be following, whether it was date ethics or dining room code, she wasn’t going to. Not the rebellious Roxanne of course. She spent about an hour putting together her perfect balance of what she wanted to wear. A dress, not too short paired with her favorite denim jacket and her headphones to hang loosely around her neck. She never went anywhere without them.
This was her first date, or something of this nature but she figured if she just went with the flow things would seem to fall into place fine. She had agreed to meet him at the restaurant beforehand, so she placed her headphones over her ears as she walked. The music blasted out any sort of noise, everything was just one music video, that’s how she like to imagine things.
She walked into the dining hall, her nerves finally beginning to set it so she tried to focus on the song. She was early, or maybe he was late. Either way, she waited quietly.
Tootles just wore a button down shirt with his sleeves rolled up and a pair of jeans and he prayed it would be good enough. He could already hear Rachel in his mind telling him to wear the nice pair, and make an impression and yada yada yada. He rolled his eyes as he combed his hair back and put on something nice-smelling and went off to the restaurant, walking quietly past other travelers on deck. He hoped, really hoped she wouldn’t stand him up. He wasn’t really ready for that, and.. it wasn’t like it was a real date. Not at least to him, unless she wanted it to be. He liked her, but he didn’t know her, and anyone that dares him to strip down within the first five minutes of their meeting.. she was unique in his book.
